With more than 30 years of experience in clinical care, she has dedicated her career to supporting individuals and families across all stages of life, with a special interest in preventive care, chronic condition management, and patient education.
As Senior Medical Advisor for Family Health at Pharmacy Mall, Dr. Salamon brings her deep clinical knowledge and compassionate approach to help shape our health content and patient support services. She contributes to the development of clear, trustworthy medical information and ensures that the advice and resources offered through our platform are grounded in real-world family practice. Dr. Joanne Lau, MD – Medical Content Reviewer
Dr. Joanne Lau is a Family and Emergency Medicine physician with a strong foundation in both clinical care and health research. She completed her medical degree at the University of Ottawa and her Family Medicine residency at Queen’s University, following earlier studies in health sciences and innovation management.
Now working as a Medical Content Reviewer at our online pharmacy, Dr. Lau applies her clinical expertise to ensure that the health information and product descriptions we provide are accurate, clear, and helpful for patients. Her combined background in medicine and research makes her a valuable part of our team, helping users access reliable guidance they can trust.
Dr. Jelena Kacanski, MD – Family Medicine Advisor
Dr. Jelena Kacanski is a warm and dedicated family doctor who brings both heart and experience to her work. She completed her medical degree at the University of Belgrade, followed by her Family Medicine residency at the University of Ottawa, where she served as Chief Resident. Along the way, she’s cared for patients in a wide range of settings—from hospitals in Canada to clinics in Serbia and Brazil—and has always focused on building strong, supportive relationships with the people she treats.
Now as a Family Medicine Advisor with our team, Dr. Kacanski helps shape the medical content our users rely on every day. She reviews health information, offers guidance on clinical topics, and makes sure that what we share is not only accurate, but genuinely helpful. Passionate about patient education and clear communication, she brings a thoughtful, human approach to everything she does.
Mike Tierney, BScPhm, MSc – Senior Pharmacy Advisor
Mike Tierney is a highly experienced pharmacist and healthcare leader with a deep background in clinical programs, drug evaluation, and health system management. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Toronto and a Master’s in Pharmacology from the University of Ottawa. Over the course of his career, he has held senior roles including Vice President of Clinical Programs at The Ottawa Hospital and Vice President of the Common Drug Review at CADTH, where he played a key role in national drug assessment and healthcare policy.
Now part of Pharmacy Mall, Mike brings his decades of insight to his role as Senior Pharmacy Advisor. He supports the development and review of medication-related content, offers guidance on pharmaceutical care practices, and helps ensure that our services align with the highest standards of safety, quality, and patient understanding. With a calm and thoughtful presence, Mike helps bridge the gap between expert pharmacy knowledge and everyday patient needs.
Dr. Arman Hosseini, PharmD – Pharmacist
Dr. Arman Hosseini is a highly accomplished pharmacist and educator with a deep-rooted passion for clinical pharmacology, medical education, and public health innovation. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of Tehran and is certified by the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC). Over nearly two decades, he served as a Professor of Pharmacology at Kurdistan Medical University, where he taught future physicians and pharmacists, led continuing education for healthcare professionals, and directed a 24/7 drug information center.
Dr. Hosseini has also contributed significantly to pharmaceutical research, completing a doctoral thesis on the anti-pathogenic effects of plant extracts and earning academic recognition for his work in surface tension and drug formulation. Now part of our pharmacy team, he brings a wealth of experience, academic rigor, and a global perspective to his role as Pharmacist, helping us deliver accurate, thoughtful, and research-informed support to every user who relies on our services.
Nada Mosallam, BPharm – Pharmacist
Nada Mosallam is a dedicated pharmacist with over a decade of experience in community, hospital, and retail pharmacy settings. She earned her Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours from Alexandria University and has worked in both Egypt and the UAE before continuing her professional journey in Canada. Her background includes medication dispensing, inventory management, tender preparation, and patient support, with roles at Alexandria University Students’ Hospital, Aster Pharmacy, and Shoppers Drug Mart.
Alongside her pharmacy experience, Nada has expanded her skill set with certificates in project management, team leadership, and behavioral sciences, reflecting her commitment to well-rounded, patient-centered care. Now part of our pharmacy team, Nada combines clinical knowledge with strong communication and analytical skills to support our users with care, precision, and compassion.
Maedeh Yazdani-Varzaneh – Pharmacist Assistant & Customer Support Specialist
Maedeh Yazdani-Varzaneh brings a strong combination of technical pharmacy skills and customer care experience to our team. With over a decade of hands-on experience as a pharmacy assistant across Canada and Iran, she has worked in both community and long-term care settings, using systems like Kroll and Fillware for prescription management, inventory control, and medication preparation. Her attention to detail and deep familiarity with pharmacy operations make her a reliable and efficient team member.
In addition to her pharmacy background, Maedeh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Food Industry Engineering and is completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance at AAPS. At our online pharmacy, she plays a dual role as a Pharmacist Assistant and Customer Support Specialist, helping customers with their medication questions, processing orders, and ensuring that each interaction is handled with care and professionalism. Her warm communication style and dedication to quality service make her an essential part of the user experience we aim to deliver.
